Margot Reisner
Regional Lead - Northern California
Margot is a farmer, chef, potter, and educator who grew up amidst ancient redwoods and the pacific coast. For over a decade, she has taught students of all ages about the magic of gardening, the outdoors, and nourishing food. She has committed her life to helping folks from all backgrounds remember our interdependent connection with our home planet. Holding a BA in Environmental Studies from Skidmore College, a Permaculture Design Certificate from Regenerative Design Institute and a Natural Chef Certification from Bauman College, her educational background cultivated deep intimacy with the healing power of the earth. She strives to make delicious, ecologically grown food accessible to everyone and complementary to her work at IGP, runs a 100 acre regenerative farm in Mendocino county.
Margot first became involved with IGP in 2010 as a high school student when she volunteered at San Quentin. She officially joined the staff in 2018 and since then has held the roles of administrative assistant, bookkeeper, curriculum consultant, and program manager at San Quentin. In her current role as Northern CA Regional Lead, she supervises program staff and supports them as they facilitate deep, meaningful, holistic programs in prison.
