In 2014 while serving a life sentence, Robert began to focus on his personal healing. journey. In that process, a new focal point began to emerge, one that aligned with a deep passion to be part of a visionary change in justice reform. To begin this, it was pivotal for Robert to walk a path of integrity, and most importantly, a path marked by visible dedication to improving the health of our communities.

Robert's interest in criminal justice reform started when he began attending and leading self-help groups while incarcerated. He also became a mentor in the Youth Offender Program. In 2018, after serving 16 years, since the age of 19, Robert was granted the opportunity to return home. He immediately leveraged his personal experiences to contribute to a significant movement in California that was making progress in criminal justice reform.Since his release, Robert has extensive experience in life coaching and case management.

Additionally he is a talented teaching artist and Actor with a theater company. Robert is actively involved with leading theater workshops not only with the adult and juvenile institutions but also conducting weekly theater workshops for at-risk youth in the community.Above all, Robert is a dedicated father who has learned and is continuing to identify how to align his passion for social change and being a present father.
